In LES RAYONS I, Alexandre Philippe Franck conjures a radiant tension between concealment and emergence. Drapes of dyed textile in mango leaf and turmeric by Benin’s artisans reveal and obscure in equal measure. Like the Venetian spice routes that inspired its palette, the work is a choreography of folding and unfolding, where gesture becomes geography, and emotion lingers in the pleats. What results is not mere composition, but a horizon: a rethought surface, real and imagined, embodied, and always in motion.
