Venice feels caught between two states: on one hand, fleeting and sinking, almost fragile - on the other hand, the city conveys an aura of timelessness, eternity, and resilience. To represent this dichotomy, the securely rooted permanence of the bronze branch sits at odds with the ephemeral clouds which—contrary to their fleeting, impermanent nature—become frozen in time by glass. As light passes through these forms, hypnotic shadows are cast, echoing the play of sunlight on water.
